How to Spend a Rainy Day in Atlanta

If don’t already know, here’s a preview of the rest of the week’s forecast—rain, rain and more rain. What’s a person to do amid all this doom and gloom? We’ve rounded up our favorite spots to spend a rainy day, so you can stay dry and still have fun.

1. Landmark Midtown Art Cinema

On a rainy day, I love nothing more than watching a movie and stuffing my face with food I know isn’t good for me. I recently visited Midtown Art Cinema to go to the Landmark Theatre, and it was a perfect rainy day date night. You can grab a beer and some popcorn at their snack bar, then die laughing while watching The Big Sick (my new favorite movie). Bonus: next door is the cutest European dessert bar called Apres Diem. I opted for a slice of their tiramisu paired with a cafe au lait. HEAVEN.

2. Urban Tree Cidery

Stay in and have a crisp glass of cider at Urban Tree Cidery. Grab a cider flight or sip on one of their cider-infused cocktails while you relax in their tasting room. There’s plenty of seating and piles of board games so you can pass the day away with some indoor fun.

3. Fernbank

Museums are a tried and true rainy-day staple. One of our favorites to visit is Fernbank. Escape the daily drizzle and step back in time at Fernbank’s dinosaur plaza and Mesozoic exhibits.

4. The Painted Pin

If you can get in early on a rainy day, Painted Pin is an epic place to get your bowl on. A full bar, bocce ball courts, ping pong, skee ball and more all accompany the lanes. It is truly adult gaming at its finest.
