Travel Diary: Nashville

Tatum is giving us a first-hand look at all things Nashville. And remember, what happens in Nashvegas, stays in Nashvegas.

Nashville: Home of cowboy boots, killer BBQ, and honkey-tonk. I went to the Music City this past weekend to celebrate my birthday, and I was blown away by my experience. Being only a 4-hour drive from Atlanta, here’s a few reasons why you should make the trip:

1) Nama Sushi:

I only recently dipped my toes into the world of raw fish and seaweed, but -WOW- Nama Sushi made me a believer. With half-price Mondays and 2-for-1 happy hour drinks? How can you not love?! It’s walking distance to several Nashville hot spots, including Vanderbilt’s famous replica of the Parthenon. Go, do it.

2) Yazoo Brewery:

With the quirkiest brew-masters on staff, a tour at Yazoo is a blast to attend with a group. While on the brewery tour, you get three tastings of beers they have on tap, as well as a tasting glass you get to take home! I recommend the Summer Seasonal Gose if you like drinks with a bit of a citrus punch. It was the perfect refreshing drink I need to get me through a hot day!

3) Cummins Falls:

Located an hour outside of Nashville, Cummins Falls is a beautiful work of nature tucked away in the Tennessee hillside. I’ll be the first to admit, I’m no hiker, but there are several trails you can take ranging from beginner to expert. Make sure to wear your bathing suit for the waterfall at the end of your hike!

4) Clyde’s on Church:

If you go one place on this list, head straight to Clyde’s! They have biscuits as big as your hand and insane brunch drink specials ($4 Bloody Mary’s anyone?!) It’s in a giant warehouse space, perfect for bachelorette or birthday parties, and is filled with ping-pong tables, awesome patio spots, and hilarious pieces of art all over the walls.
