End of Summer Festivals

We don’t’ mean to upset you, but we’re heading into the last month of summer. I know! It feels like only yesterday that we had our first sip of frosé. Even though August is quickly approaching, there is still time to get out and soak up the sun at a summer festival. We’ve rounded up the last few festivals of the season below!

1. Coming up first on August 12th is the Decatur BBQ Blues & Bluegrass Festival. Now in its 17th year, you can listen to over seven hours of live music in the heart of Oakhurst. Ticket proceeds will go to the Community Center of South Decatur, so you can have a good time for a good cause.

2. Get your creative fix at the Piedmont Park Arts Festival. This two-day festival on August 19th and 20th will feature 250 local painters, photographers, sculptors, glass blowers and more. We’ll take any and all opportunities to walk around Piedmont Park on a beautiful summer day.

3. “Bid adieu to summer” at the Grant Park Summer Shade Festival, happening throughout the last weekend of August. Work up a sweat at the 5K Run for the Park, sample the long list of food vendors, or bring the family to the kid’s stage! The festival supports the Grant Park Conservancy, so you can enjoy its grounds no matter the season.

4. Finally we have our favorite type of festival: a wine fest. Wine Fest Atlanta boasts an all-day all-night wine experience with premium wines from Georgia vineyards. The festival isn’t until August 26th, but half of their tickets have already sold out. Get your tickets fast, or else you’ll really have something to wine about.
