Spiced Grapes at Preserving Place

If you’re like us, you’ve already had around 100 scoops of ice cream this summer. And if you’re truly like us, you have no shame about it. However, as you turn the corner of 100 scoops, you may be in need of some sundae inspiration. Might we introduce you to Preserving Place’s award winning Spiced Grapes? Like most Preserving Place recipes, Spiced Grapes are a Southern tradition, reaching back several generations. They’re made from scuppernong and muscadine grapes that are cooked down with sugar, cinnamon, cloves, mace, and a touch of red wine vinegar. The result is warm, sweet, seedless grapes that are an unexpected ice cream topping. The smokiness from the spices cuts through the sweetness of the ice cream for a sundae combo you haven’t had this summer but definitely need to try. Once you’ve tried them with your favorite scoop, pair them with cheese or smear them on a turkey sandwich for a touch of spicy-sweetness. To celebrate the second half of summer, Spiced Grapes are 30% off in store and online now through the end of August. Make sure to grab a jar for yourself before the season ends!
