In the hot months of summer, it’s important to cool off. Of course you could head to the pool or bask in the comfort of your own AC, but one of the most fun ways to stay refreshed in the city is by heading to a brewery. Atlanta has no shortage of great local breweries, but here are a few of our favorites.

Torched Hop Brewing promises to ignite your senses with their tasty brews and trust us, they deliver. Located on Ponce de Leon near Krispy Kreme (Beer and doughnuts? Yes, please.), Torched Hop is more than just awesome IPA, saison, and stout. They've got good grub, too.

Monday Night Brewing has odd tour hours, but if you can manage to get there when it’s open, you won’t be disappointed. In addition to their standard beers, they offer nitro and flavored varieties of some of their most popular brews. For those who are frugal and have too many ties lying around, you can get a dollar off your entry fee if you bring a necktie to add to their giant Wall of Ties.

Only at Orpheus Brewing can you get the best view of the city right along Piedmont Park and the Beltline. They offer standard brewery tours as well as one extended tour for the beer nerd in your group. If you’re looking for beer with a side of laughs, they host a comedy night on the first Wednesday of every month as well.

Sweetwater Brewing is one of the most popular breweries in Atlanta. Inside you’ll find all of your favorite Sweetwater beers, a spacious interior, and floor to ceiling windows. Outside is a nice patio, everyone who brought along a dog, and sometimes live music. As one of the largest breweries in town, there are always special events to keep a look out for.
