Preserving Place is a Southern foodie’s dream. You’ll find house-made jams, pickled condiments, and biscuit cooking classes. In two weeks, Preserving Place will welcome another Southern favorite, chef Hugh Acheson.
The culinary mind behind Empire State South in Atlanta, 5 & 10 and The National in Athens, and The Florence in Savannah will stop by for a meet & greet and book signing. Canadian born but has made Georgia his home, Hugh’s cooking is a marriage between Southern traditions and seasonal produce. His latest book, The Broad Fork, delves into the world of fruits and vegetables and explains when and how to cook these fresh and sometimes unfamiliar ingredients. His thoughts on fresh and local food sourcing are right at home in the Preserving Place kitchen.
Meet Hugh and get your copy of The Broad Fork or any of his award-winning cookbooks signed April 19th from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. There’s no cost for this event but your RSVP is required to attend.
