Where to Get the Best Cocktails in Atlanta

The Hummingbird from The Mercury

The Hummingbird from The Mercury

Sure it’s Thursday morning, but we’re already dreaming of our Friday night cocktail. The weekend is too short to waste on lackluster drinks, so we’ve rounded up three of our favorite spots for a well-crafted cocktail. Drink responsibly, and by responsibly, we mean from the top shelf.

Travel up to the second floor of Ponce City Market to enjoy craft cocktails from The Mercury. Try The Hummingbird if you like your drinks slightly sweet, full of gin, and topped with a hibiscus flower. However, if you’re in need of a drink early in the week, stop by for Merc Mondays. All of their classic cocktails are half-off all day.

Bar Margot has a broad list of libations: beer, wine, spirits, etc. We encourage you to skip all that and head straight for the cocktail list. Vodka drinkers to whiskey sippers will find something they love on their menu and that will pair perfectly with their equally stellar food.

Himitsu, the reservation-only bar next to sushi smash Umi, is perfect if you like your cocktails to come with a side exclusivity. To get a reservation, you have to email your request for a reservation. If you’re one of the lucky chosen few, you’ll receive a secret code to get past the hostess. Once your retina and fingerprints are scanned (We joke…We think.), you’ll enter a dim, sophisticated lounge where tantalizing cocktails and small plates from Umi await you.
