BOFC Travel Diary: Malibu

Christina, BOFC co-owner, recounts some of her favorite stops from a quick wedding weekend in Malibu, California.

Malibu Guest Cottage

Malibu Guest Cottage

1.) Airbnb

We seriously snagged the most amazing Airbnb. The Rolling Stone Cottage is a guest house on a gorgeous private home minutes from Zuma Beach and Point Dume. Clawfoot tub? Check. Lemon Trees? Check. A basketball court? Sure, why not!

2.) Brunch at V’s

If you thought brunch was a big deal in Atlanta, we don’t have anything on how they do this in Malibu. It’s a true affair and the food at V’s stands up to the hype. I recommend the salmon benedict, a side of Portobello fries, and a Giger Fix to wash it down.

 3.) Pepperdine University

This sprawling, resort-like campus is something to behold. Pop in for a tour and you'll leave thinking you need to go back for your Master's Degree in just about anything.

4.) Malibu Pier

The pier is the perfect place to remind yourself why you made the haul to California. The water is beautiful and if you hang out for a while, you might just see a whale or two. There’s even a surf museum and café. Definitely worth the trip.

5.) Nobu

Yes, every celebrity and socialite lives for Nobu – and for good reason. This sushi is GOOD. If dining with a view is on your list, Nobu will tick it. If you’re up for it, go for the signature tasting menu. You’ll leave full and very, very happy.
